Cheap Chicas: 5 Budget-Friendly Basics For Fall - Lilliana Vazquez - The LV Guide

A new season doesn’t have to mean a new wardrobe. Here are 5 budget-friendly basics that you can wear multiple ways!

1. White Ankle Boots

– One trend that started to heat up at the end of last fall is coming back stronger than ever and that trend is white booties!
I had a pair of white booties last season that I literally wore until they fell apart. I am going to is grab another pair (or two) to wear this fall! Now when I say “booties” I mean “booties”, not boots. White booties give of an effortlessly cool vibe, but tall white boots can tend to look tacky. I also love Sock Booties in white. They elongate the legs and make them look thinner. They also look great with jeans and dresses!
– Shopping tip: Try to find them in luxurious fabrics such as suede or leather, not patent leather because it can look costume-y.
– Style tip: Try swapping out your heavy, dark boots for some light and fresh white booties. They pair with neutral tones and pastel colors so beautifully and don’t weigh your outfits down like dark boots sometimes can.

2. Velvet T-shirt

– Velvet is back and bigger than ever this fall! It’s being showcased in deep, luxurious jewel tones, which gives a rich and elevated feeling to the pieces.
– Shopping tip: Velvet pieces are particularly fun when they appear in unexpected silhouettes – such as a velvet t-shirt. At first I thought the idea of a velvet t-shirt was crazy, but then I saw a friend wearing one and I fell in love!
– Style tip: The key to making a velvet piece not look outdated is to look for pieces that are more modern (such as a wrap midi dress with a deep V neckline, some sleek pumps, or even a structured blazer.) Looking for an easy way to update your everyday white t-shirt and jeans look? Add a velvet boyfriend tee and some booties and you are fashion forward and ready for fall!

3. Long Boyfriend Blazer

– This is the trend that I’m most excited about! A Long Boyfriend Blazer is a basic piece that can easily transition from work, to a night out, or even for a casual weekend outfit. By adding this piece you’re instantly giving your outfit an effortlessly cool look.
– How I’m wearing it: For work, I’m pairing the blazer with structure slacks or wide leg pants. For a night out, I’m mixing the menswear-inspired blazer with a feminine pleated skirt and a silk top. For the weekend, I’m pairing it with a white tee, boyfriend jeans, and my favorite sneakers.
– Style tip: To make the blazer look less frump, cuff the sleeves!

4. Tall Red Boots

– Everyone’s go-to shoe in the fall is a boot, so why not have a little fun by adding a pop of red in to the mix!?
– Red pairs beautifully with all the rich autumn colors, such as navy, forest green, mustard, wine, rich caramel, and neutral cream colors.
– Style tip: Wear them with jeans OR be daring and wear them underneath a mid length dress or skirt.
{Love this pair!}

5. Silky Midi Shirt Dress

-A shirt dress is a basic that every woman needs in her closet, but by getting it in a silky fabric and a rich tone, it will elevate your look instantly. The silk fabric will also give the piece a lot of movement as you walk around. I can’t wait to wear tall boots underneath a piece like this for fall.
– Shopping tip: The key for this piece is to find it in a silk-like fabric so it can be layered under or over anything.
– Style tip: Have fun with it and try styling it different ways. It can be worn as a shirt dress, styled over jeans and worn as a tunic, you could put a skirt over shirt dress for a fun layered look, or you could open it up over a top and pants and wear it as a duster.
{Love this one!}
