Summer Décor Trends
I love to change up my décor every once in a while. I like to rearrange furniture, repaint rooms, and buy fun pieces to place throughout my home. I love the fresh feeling a little change brings! This summer, décor trends are filled with fresh patterns, colors, and designs. From copper accents to plenty of greenery, there are so many options to explore.
So, if you’re like me and looking to update your digs, incorporate a few of these trends in your home.
Palms, pineapples, and parrots! Opt for bold walls and vivid artwork for a fun, tropical vibe. If you’re not into hibiscus-colored walls and just want to dip a toe into the tropical décor style, choose one bright color and pair with neutrals or start with something as simple as a palm front throw pillow!
Less nautical and more windswept, think calming blue shades, rolling waves, and muted colors. Use reclaimed wood as floorboards or molding and lightly stain them for a bleached look. Create your own art with driftwood you’ve found along the beach. For a personal touch- have an old surfboard you’re not using? Prop it up against a wall as decoration!
Cacti and succulents are everywhere right now. To capture this desert look, focus on textures and patterns via pillows, throw blankets, and woven rugs. Add a large desert portrait and tiny details like these adorable cactus wall hooks. Remember, even desert plants bloom, so don’t be afraid to include some bright colors!
Warm browns, dark blues, and shaded grays. Dark walls, bedding, and furniture give your home a timeless look. You can easily trade out throw rugs, artwork, and trendy end tables, but a darker color foundation is your key to a modern, yet classic vibe. Opt for a monochromatic look by including black & white photos or give the room a pop of color with a statement lamp.
Bring the outside in. Slate tiles, stone shower walls, and wood slab coffee tables are a beautiful way to elevate your décor. With a clean and natural look, elements from the environment give your home an an earthy vibe that you can make boho, chic, or both!
Time to hone your gardening skills! This year’s Pantone color is Greenery, so what better way to embrace that than with actual plants? Choose fun pots and pick plants that can multitask. Some plants are great for soothing sunburn (hey aloe!), while mint can be used to make mojitos, and spider plants will suck the carbon monoxide out of your home! Plus, there are many plants that are easy to maintain. But make sure to do your research if you have pets and/or children, many plants are toxic if ingested.
Not just for barware, but perfect for pots and pans and accent pieces around the home. Think copper hardware on cabinets and and sinks. Not ready to redo your kitchen? Subtly include this metal into your home via mirror frames, lighting, and wall décor. Pair with mint or blush accents for a totally on-trend look.
If you’re looking to change up your home vibe a bit, any one of these trends is sure to do the trick. So channel your inner interior designer and get decorating!
